With all of the regulations regarding aviation safety, most people are surprised to learn that corporate flight attendants are not required to have any kind of safety training.
Since the safety of passengers is the primary responsibility of flight attendants on airline flights, many passengers assume that flight attendants on private flights are also trained in unscheduled landing, emergency evacuation procedures, basic CPR and first aid equipment use.
Susan C. Friedenberg of Corporate Flight Attendant Training does not offer safety courses through her own Corporate Flight Attendant Training program, but she strongly advocates that her students receive such training. She is also a strong supporter of legislation requiring safety training for corporate flight attendants.
This outspoken advocacy has cost her business with companies that don’t want the added expense of additional training for flight attendants, but it certainly shows her commitment to the well-being of people in private aviation, including the flight attendants themselves, pilots and passengers..
